The Trust is delighted to be associated with Taunton Festival of the Arts, formerly Taunton & Somerset Music, Drama & Dance Festival, formed in 1913.
The Festival exists to encourage and promote the performance and enjoyment of the arts. Aiming particularly, but not exclusively, at young people it provides a challenge and a unique opportunity to perform in a competitive and non-competitive situation in front of experienced professional adjudicators, offering teaching at the highest level.
Music classes are held in piano, strings, woodwind, brass, recorders, composition and vocal.
Drama classes include verse speaking, prepared reading, public speaking, mime, and acting.
Dance classes include Cabaret, Ballet, Character, Modern, Tap, Song & Dance, Lyrical, Choreography, Duets, Trios and Groups.
During his many years in Somerset, Ronald Tickner was a tireless supporter of and accompanist at the Festival.
TAUNTON ASSOCIATION OF PERFORMING ARTS
The Trust is delighted to be associated with Taunton Association of Performing Arts, which was founded in 1998 by Brian Cresswell, founder and former trustee of the Ronald Tickner Educational Trust. The main role of Taunton Association of Performing Arts is to produce an online calendar of arts events taking place in the area surrounding Taunton, Somerset, by its 30+ members of arts organisations.
